Bio:
Irina "Pina" Pinkusevich immigrated from former soviet union in 1989 with her parents at the age of 18. While studying at NYU she got a part time job bathing dogs at the local Grooming shop! That is how the love affair began! For 16 years Pina worked as a pet groomer in her own shops and some of the most high-end grooming salons of NYC. After she moved to Miami,FL in 2006 she was thinking of something interesting to do with her profession that she loved until her friend offered to go to one of the grooming shows in Orlando, Fl and compete against each other just for fun! Well friend never showed up and Pina got second in her class with her poodle! She was bit by a bug!!!!!!Being a very close friend to Michel Lamb and Bill Jividen jr who r one of the top miniature poodle kennels Kiyara, Pina started going to the shows and co-breeding with the guys! Knowing poodles the best Pina competed with her them and won almost every time she got in the ring! To the day it is only been 3 years of competing for groom team USA points. And pina ranked #1 groomer in the Nation 2 years out of 3 gaining her prestigious spot on the traveling team USA and winning the world team championship in Dachau Germany with her team mates in 2009! Multiple BIS and Best all around groomer ,American Groomer of the Year at Intergroom and Nominated for cardinal Chrystal award for The groomer of the year twice, Recipient of a Linn Carver award for the most Best all around groomer wins in 2008 and many more achievements. Pina has decided to retire from active competing and dedicate herself to teaching. Traveling across the country with Ann Martin Teaching a two day Complete poodle seminars to pet stylists all over the nation! Working at the Merryfield School Of pet grooming in Ft Lauderdale,Fl as an instructor she trained and mentored her students to win The carrier Start tournaments for thee years in the row! Pina is an NCMG and about to start her apprenticeship to become a National Dog Groomers Associations Certifier!
